Torpol modernizes the railway connection to the port of Gdańsk

Today, the conclusion of contracts regarding the implementation of projects related to the improvement of rail access infrastructure for ports in Gdańsk and Gdynia between the PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe and the contractors took place in the area of the port of Gdynia. The implementation of two of the three contracts concluded today was entrusted to a consortium of TORPOL S.A. and PUT Intercor.

The first contract with the value of approximately PLN 391.9 million excl. VAT concerns the performance of construction works on the 227/249 line with the Gdańsk Zaspa Towarowa station and 722 lines. The Company’s share in remuneration and work completion is 70%. The second contract concerns works on the 226 line with the Gdańsk Port Północny station and the 965 line together with the Gdańsk Kanasz Kaszubski station. The value of this public order is approx. PLN 758 million excl. VAT, of which TORPOL is responsible for 46% of remuneration and work. Deadlines for completion of both projects have been set for 30 months from the date of signing the agreements.

As part of the subject of the contract, the works will include the construction and reconstruction of all elements of the railway infrastructure, including: superstructure and subgrade, catenary network with power supply systems, railway traffic control devices and telecommunication systems, as well as road surface, engineering and cubature structures, together with signaling and fire systems and devices.
