First test runs on PKM line successfully completed
Using the EN57ALd-2224 vehicle borrowed from POLREGIO, a series of test rides were carried out on the Gdańsk Wrzeszcz – Gdańsk Kiełpinek section on the night of 8-9 November. At a maximum speed of 120 km/h, the electric train covered the tested section without stopping in 6 minutes and 20 seconds. Currently, a diesel train that stops at all stops along the way covers the same section of the route in 14 minutes, while a fast train that stops only at two stops travels 11 minutes. The test runs were attended by representatives of the Ordering Party, as well as POLREGIO and the Railway Institute.
As part of the PKM electrification project (approx. 40 km of catenary on lines Nos. 248 and 253, together with integration into railway lines Nos. 201 and 202), our Company is also carrying out the construction of a new Gdańsk Firoga stop, comprising two 150-metre platforms together with a road system and car parks, as well as extending the existing technical and telematics infrastructure of the PKM.
More information about the project is available on the Pomeranian Metropolitan Railway website.
