The TORPOL – KOMBUD consortium will modernize the track system of the Ostrołęka Power Plant
Today, at the construction site of the Ostrołęka C Power Plant, an agreement was signed regarding the design and construction of a railway infrastructure worth almost PLN 179 million net between Elektrownia Ostrołęka Sp. z o.o. and the consortium of TORPOL S.A. and Zakłady Automatyki KOMBUD S.A. The concluded contract is an important element of the investment regarding the construction of a new power unit with a capacity of approx. 1000 MW, allowing for effective replacement of the depleted capacity in the National Energy System.
– This is our next contract, due to which, we are diversifying our activity accordingly to the recently adopted strategy – said Grzegorz Grabowski, president of TORPOL S.A. – Implementation of projects for the energy industry allows us to gain the necessary experience to enable the acquisition of further such contracts in the future. Currently, the TORPOL Group’s order portfolio is over PLN 4.17 billion excl. VAT without the participation of consortium members – added Mr. Grabowski.
The material scope of the contract provides, among others, for the modernization and reconstruction of the track system with a length of over 13 km, development of 28 switches and reconstruction of 4 crossings together with modernization of almost 12 km of overhead contact line. Two new engineering objects, control room and engine room together with a gas station will be built. The road system will also be rebuilt. A modern computerized rail traffic control system will be responsible for the safety of railway traffic at the power plant. The duration of the entire project is 36 months.
– First of all, we will start with design works, dismantle the existing infrastructure and remove media collisions. The actual construction works are planned for the spring of next year – summed up President Grabowski.
