Torpol Running Team – we’re back!
The members of the Torpol Running Team are getting back in shape by taking part in charity sports events. On September 5, 2021, they took for the sixth time part in the Poland Business run, which is the largest charity business running event in Poland. The purpose of the sports competition, which has been organised since 2012, is primarily to help people with amputations and to promote a healthy lifestyle. The run has the character of a relay race, in which there are five competitors. More information about the run can be found on the organiser’s website: https://polandbusinessrun.pl/. Two crews of Torpol Running Team took part in this year’s Business Run. Each of the runners had to cover a distance of 4 km, and the total time of the members of each team was taken into account for the overall team classification. Our runners took 1824 and 2013 position with the time 1:58:50 and 2:00:50.
On 12 September 2021, the EKIDEN PragmatIQ relay run took place for the eighth time at the Malta Lake in Poznań, during which teams of 6 people in six running turns covered the total marathon distance of 42.195 km altogether. The goal of the 8th edition of the EKIDEN run was to support the “Niesiemy Nadzieja” Foundation from Poznań. Apart from the donation collected as part of the entry fee (PLN 42.915 from each entry fee was donated to charity), a charity lottery was also organized, and all proceeds from the sale of tickets were donated to the “Stowarzyszenie na Tak” charity organisation. For the Torpol Running Team, this was the third start in the EIKIDEN PragmatIQ relay (previously in 2018 and 2019). Despite the rather high temperature, affecting all participants, the team completed the relay with a good overall time of 03:45:20 (4 minutes faster than in 2019!). In the open classification, the Torpol Running Team took 43rd place out of 78 classified teams, and among company teams – 21st place out of 39 teams.
