Wings for Life 2023
The Wings for Life World Run is an extraordinary international event, with runners competing around the world at the same time. The entire entry fee and all donations go towards the research of the spinal cord and treatments for its injuries. This run differs from other events of its kind in that there is no finish line. Instead, 30 minutes after the start, a so-called Chase Car sets off on the run route and overtakes the runners and wheelchair participants, catching up with each in turn. The moment the car catches up with a runner marks the end of his or her run.
This year’s jubilee edition attracted 207,000 participants worldwide, including 8,000 in Poznań alone. Our TORPOL RUNNING TEAM, a group of 14 runners, took a high 917th place in the global ranking, covering a total distance of 182 km. The best of our runners, Krzysztof Nieznalski, ran a distance of almost 32 km.
We would like to congratulate our runners and wish them good luck in their future starts!
More information about the run is available on the Organiser’s website.
